When you have too much fat, your body will use its fat stores as a last resort to provide energy.
The amount of fat stored in your body will determine how much weight you lose. When your body is constantly being threatened by a threat, it uses up its fat stores to provide energy to combat the threat. However, if you have more fat than your body can burn, it is the body’s normal reaction to slow down the metabolism so it can burn the remaining fat. This process of slowing down the metabolism occurs because the body needs to use up all of its fat reserves as it burns them off.
However, if there is more fat stored in the body than it can burn, it becomes a problem. This extra fat, called adipose tissue, will then start to get stored as fat.
